The scene in the Jacquard knit displays a rework of a video frame transmitting with a glitch that shows a press conference featuring Boris Johnson and Donald Trump. It was just after Boris Johnson had lost a court case regarding the prorogation of parliament, a legally dubious strategy he pursued to push through Brexit. This was a small success for the anti-Brexit movement and Donald Trump tried to console Boris Johnson by saying that his lost court case was “just another day in the office”. The mode of representation often used to depict historic scenes has been used here to produce a shameful historical scene. Also, the “poor image” of the glitch-ridden video frame is re-enriched through its rendition as a Jacquard knit. The yellow frame in the Jacquard is a reworking of an element of tapestry from the collection in Royal Castle in Krakow, Poland.
