GERMAN MEMORY
The Jacquard knit is a montage of characters from 1930ʼs Nazi Germany (here symbolising body health) who were originally bathing in the sea. It works much like a spectrogram (visual representation of sound) of the bombing of a city from World War II.
The rotating camera reads the textile and converts it to sound.
